Holy Angels

The word "angel" is borrowed from a Greek word which means "messenger". The angels are infinite in number as human myriad personalities. Our Holy Angel is said to have its own individual characteristics. According to many theologians like St. Thomas of Aquinas the myriads of all angelic beings are organized into nine. Holy Angels are in some way Divine Fragments and opposite of human beings, angels do not forget that they get their powers from God. It is believed that every angel has its own duties. Each one of us does have a guardian angel. This guardian angel protects and guides us from all threats in our life. We are given extra angels if we have some special mission or calling. All these angels do have a name and even separate identities. Most saints and theologians believe that angels were created much before God made the universe. While others say that they were created along with all other creations. In spite of all these differences most of them agree upon that there are angels and they are spirits without any physical existence and they have never incarnated. There are human testimonials that say angels can transform into human form temporarily. Theologians are of the opinion that Holy angels are spiritually higher than humans but there are many with just the opposite view and say that humans are higher spiritually than angels. Most theologians agree upon that angelic realms do have hierarchy, or angelic ranks. The angels take orders from whom they have above them and should obey. From the ancient days it was believed that Holy Angels existed. It is said that Padre Pio used to speak to his guardian angel and also other Catholic Saints. There is much evidence of the presence of angels in the Old and New Testament. In the Book of Revelations from Saint John, it is said that angels will always be with mankind by working from heaven and earth until the earth comes to a stop. The most widely known angels are the four archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel. Most scholars like St. Thomas of Aquinas believe that Seraphim is the highest angel. We humans usually interact with the lowest hierarchy of angels, the principalities. Out of all the angels, the two closest to humans are the Archangels and the Angels. We can call these angels at any time and ask for protection, healing, aid, help and spiritual guidance. Angels are Divine agents and they act as the messengers of God. The angels have the power to heal, guide and protect all of us. As saints and our Lady do, they also interact with God and pray for us. The best religious gifts to offer others are statutes of angels made out of olive woods from the Holy Land. The wood of the olive tree that is used to make these gifts has special meaning to many. These statues are specially made by the artists or households from Bethlehem.
